ABOUT THE ROLE

As the New Business Director, you will lead the charge in crafting and executing a robust new business strategy. You will work with internal and external stakeholders to cultivate opportunities, represent The DO to prospective clients, and drive meaningful partnerships that align with our purpose and objectives. Based in Berlin, you will manage relationships with C-level decision-makers, lead pitches, and establish The DO as a trusted partner for transformative impact.

You would own…

  • New Business Strategy: Co-create and implement a comprehensive business development plan, targeting high-impact sectors and clients that align with The DO’s mission and financial goals.
  • Pipeline Development: Build and maintain a strong new business pipeline, leveraging data analytics, CRM tools, and personalized outreach to engage potential clients.
  • Client Engagement: Act as the first point of contact for prospective clients, understanding their needs and presenting The DO’s services and solutions effectively.
  • Relationship Management: Foster and maintain relationships with senior leaders, including CEOs, CHROs, and other C-suite stakeholders, ensuring alignment and partnership success.
  • Pitches and Proposals: Lead the development of pitches, proposals, and presentations to secure new business opportunities.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, including program leads, creative teams, and senior leadership, to align on objectives and execute initiatives.
  • Insights and Learning: Track performance metrics, share insights on wins and losses, and continuously refine the new business development process.

  • Strategic Partnerships: Build and grow relationships with key decision-makers and organizations to unlock new opportunities for purposeful transformation.
  • Thought Leadership: Establish The DO as a leader in consulting, strategy implementation, and capacity building by showcasing our expertise and impact in innovation, sustainability, and people engagement.

You will work closely with the… 

  • Internal: Senior leadership, program leads, marketing and communications teams, creative teams, and operational staff across The DO ecosystem.
  • External: CEOs, CHROs, and senior stakeholders from prospective and existing clients, as well as external collaborators in consulting, innovation, and community-building.

 

Success in this role looks like…

  • Building and maintaining a sustainable pipeline of prospective clients aligned with The DO’s mission and growth targets.
  • Securing partnerships that drive seven-figure revenue streams and long-term impact.
  • Establishing The DO as a trusted partner for transformation through effective representation and storytelling.
  • Driving cross-functional collaboration to ensure successful execution of pitches, proposals, and projects.

This is what you can expect…

In the first month,you will complete your onboarding, learn the nuts & bolts of The DO Programs and get to know the team while contributing to strategic discussions.

After three months,you will have built strong working relationships with key stakeholders, taken charge of new business initiatives, and begun designing client-focused strategies.

After six months, you will lead end-to-end partnership processes, ensuring smooth operations and communication with internal and external stakeholders.

After one year, you will have established yourself as a key driver of new business success, influencing broader organizational growth and impact.

ABOUT YOU

To thrive and grow in this role, you will likely be: 

  • Significant experience (10+ years) in business development, consulting, or account management, with a proven track record of securing high-value partnerships.
  • Strong expertise in strategic planning, stakeholder management, and sales funnel execution.
  • Exceptional communication and storytelling skills, capable of engaging senior executives and decision-makers.
  • Deep knowledge of transformation processes, innovation, and sustainability topics.
  • Experience leading and managing high-performing teams, providing mentorship and professional development.
  • Fluency in German and English (verbal and written).
