ABOUT THE ROLE

About the role 

In this role, you will build and execute a  holistic public engagement strategy, showcasing thought leadership and activating impactful brand-building collaboration with relevant international and national journalists, media outlets. Through these collaborations, you will help us spread engaging stories around achievements and ambassadors, highlighting our programs creating successful organisations and advancing sustainable, innovative and equitable economies. 

You would own…

  • Growing the reputation and external visibility of our key global initiatives and programmes to successfully win earned media opportunities – showcasing our thought leadership with innovative, creative excellence.
  • Rapidly build media partnerships, from your existing media relationships, for ambitious impact-oriented goals related to existing and potential clients and grow existing partnerships through account ownership 
  • Shape the strategy and planning for public engagement for our Global Fellowships, leveraging the full PR and thought leadership potential of our international events. This includes a thorough review of our event positioning strategy, coordination of communication across owned and earned channels and overall coherence with the broader mission and impact delivery.
  • Lead and guide the production of  issue statements in a hands-on-manner as necessary, with crisis management experience and resilience in managing unexpected situations.
  • Manage relationships and C-level stakeholders on a high-quality level and act as a link between The DO project team, the partner team, the wider organization and external experts. 
  • Developing keynotes for CEO and communication for C-Level stakeholders to carry successes into the companies.

This is what you can expect…

In the first month, you will complete your onboarding, learn the nuts & bolts of The DO Communication and Programs and get to know the team

After three months,you will have established good working relationships with your external partners, start leading the internal team of project leaders, have taken over the program and stakeholder management for your program(s) and started to co-facilitate and design workshops.

After six months, you will have established a smooth workflow, operations and communication between internal and external program stakeholders and fully own program and stakeholder management for your program(s). Moreover, you will start launching new partnerships.

After one year, you will be fully at ease in your role as director; and will have started to look at your impact beyond immediate tasks, e.g. in terms of ecosystem and community building with our partners.

ABOUT YOU

To thrive and grow in this role, you will likely be: 

  • An outstanding communicator, able to communicate vision and strategy to different stakeholders, to translate it into different types of materials and to communicate the story behind brands and organizations
  • 10 to 15 years of experience in PR, with an existing journalist contact list
  • Comfortable with individual project volumes of €20K to €300K and work on a project volume of around €1 million per year
  • Leadership: internal/external resources etc. must be handled in such a way that very good quality is achieved while keeping costs in mind
  • A strategic thinker with a creative streak and a talent for building strong brands and narratives
  • An experienced program director who can oversee multiple client projects, who has preferably worked e.g. in agencies and/or consultancies 
  • A senior impact communications expert with deep inside knowledge and extensive network, leverage partnership and sponsorship opportunities
  • An excellent network in the media and journalism 
  • Grow the DO Fellowship’s footprint at regional global summits

  • PR expertise and bring a relevant network with you
  • Expertise in agency products: strategic narratives, campaigns, films
  • Empathetic, open-minded and flexible
  • A clear communicator both orally, in your day-to-day communication and in the production of written materials geared at different types of audiences
  • Fluent in German and English (verbal and written)
  • Worked in large, complex organizations and fast-paced and international environments

  • Worked with talented, and next generation leaders
  • Purpose-driven with a passion for working and developing people
  • Different methods and models of communication, coaching and design.
