DO Something Now!

Count Us In, the UK High-Level Champions for COP26 and The DO offer a series of awards to young DOers to make a difference! Are you passionate about environmental change? Do you dream about creating a positive impact? Are you between 16 and 35 years old?

We are offering €2000 cash prizes to support changemakers developing ideas on bringing the wild back, eating for the planet, traveling sustainably, or rewriting our future. Let’s join forces and tackle the climate emergency together!

How It Works

To participate, take the following steps:

  • Join The DO community and give us a shout
  • Choose between our challenges and develop an initiative.
  • Fill out the application form.
  • Share and spread the word! Let’s bring together changemakers around the globe and scale up our impact!

Send your challenge to world leaders at COP26
Send a challenge to world leaders attending COP26. Record a short video message, saying briefly what you’re doing about the climate emergency (‘My bit’) and what you are challenging the world leaders to do (‘Your bit’). The best 100 videos will be showcased at COP26 to grab the attention of world leaders.

ENTER THE CLIMATE SCIENCE OLYMPIAD

The Climate Science Olympiad invites you to create solutions to the Sustainable Development Goals.
You can join a team or form your own team in one of two age categories: 14-17 and 18-25. Registration is open until 1st August 2021. There will be 10,000 participants and 50 finalists, with a prize pool of $10,000. Find out more and register!

CRAFT IT CHALLENGE

Use your crafts for activism
Craftivist Collective, who use crafts for activism, challenge you to make a yellow canary in any medium you wish (we have patterns too) and place it in public with the message ‘Join us on the #RaceToZero @Craftivists’ to engage passersby or through social media.

SAY IT CHALLENGE

Create a Future Dictionary for a warming world!
Words such as greenwashing, ecocide and upcycling have come into the dictionary in recent years. What words will we need in the future? Help create a Future Dictionary for a warming world. Prizes of £50 for the best 100 new words. Yours could be one.

PLANT IT CHALLENGE

Plant flowers in unloved places!
Guerrilla gardeners plant flowers in unloved places to brighten the environment and cheer up people. Prizes of £100 for the best guerrilla planting. Just find some space which needs a bit of TLC, plant it creatively, and share what you have done.

THE GREY TO GREEN CHALLENGE

A hands-on approach to urban greening!
The Grey to Green Challenge is all about urban gardening, helping you to transform lifeless corners of their neighbourhoods into vibrant miniature gardens that benefit community mental health as well as local biodiversity. Due to the time and effort required to create these spots of greenery, and to incentivise really impactful actions, Dream Green are offering prizes of £500, and also up to £100 to support people who may not be financially able to cover their own costs for materials, plants etc.

SONGS FOR OUR CLIMATE CHALLENGE

Create and perform a song on climate change!
Climate Actions Now is challenging young people to engage in climate action through the Universal Language of Music. We're asking you to create a song that will inspire the world to take action. Win a one-song non-exclusive publishing deal with a cash advance to create a song, a track or an anthem to rally people around the climate emergency - choose any style (rock, rap, opera, acapella) and in any format (audio or video or both).

THE SUNFLOWER CHALLENGE

Adding some colour to life!
This quick and easy challenge will get dozens of people planting guerrilla sunflowers in public spots. If theirs grows to be one of the tallest (they will need to look after it properly) they could win £100. The person with the saddest sunflower will win £20 and a “How to Garden” book.
